DEMOCRAT LAWMAKERS PUSHING FOR MINIMUM WAGE HIKE

A number of high ranking lawmakers were in attendance calling on a minimum wage hike. Voters in the state will have the chance to decide whether the minimum wage is increased by $1 per hour and ties future increases to inflation. Democratic gubernatorial candidate and Senate President Steve Sweeney were among those in attendance. If the vote goes through, the new minimum wage is $8.25.
