DEATHS NOW REPORTED FROM IRENE IN NEW JERSEY

Hurricane Irene in the Garden State was a deadly storm. Officials in the North Jersey community of Kearny say a man who worked at the United States Postal Facility in that city died Sunday morning when he tried to walk away from his flooded vehicle.  Police identify the victim as 47 year old Ronald Dawkins, a supervisor at the facility.  Authorities say Dawkins’ body was recovered about 100 yards away from where co workers last saw him earlier in the day on Sunday.  And, authorities in Wanaque say a local man died after he fell into a stream in that community.  North Jersey.com reports the victim as 39 year old Scott Palecek.
