COURT SAYS POLITICAL DONATIONS CAN'T BE CAPPED FROM UNIONS

An executive order to cap how much a public union could donate in a political campaign was shot down by a state appeals court. Gov. Chris Christie has issued an executive order that he said would make unions equal to other businesses that have contracts with the state over $17,500. They are not allowed to make political donations over $300. The court said a change of this nature would need the legislature’s approval.
