COUNTY SHARING OF POLICE SERVICES BEING DISCUSSED IN NEW JERSEY

120px-Seal_of_New_Jersey_svgShould county’s combine police services? It is being looked at throughout the state. Gov. Chris Christie hosted that discussion with the mayors of Trenton, Newark, and Camden on Thursday. All three of those cities have made cuts in public safety for budget regions and Christie was trying to come up with solutions. The one most talked about is a regional police force on the county level. Somerset County has a proposal on the table to make all 19 police departments in the county under one county program by 2013.
