COUNTY ROAD TRUCKS OUT FOR WINTER STORM

Cape May County logoThe Cape May County Road and Bridge Department crews began salting operations at 8a.m. this morning.  Initially they are salting the major County bridges and roads.  The salting will continue until the accumulating snowfall tops, approximately 1.5 to 2 inches, then they will begin plowing operations.  According to County Engineer Dale Foster, This is supposed to be a short duration event; therefore, the County will have a nearly full contingent of personnel and trucks on the road involved in the snow removal operation.

Additionally, the County has plenty of salt on hand.  The County received several deliveries of salt on Friday and the County’s salt barns are nearly full with approximately 3,000 tons of salt.
