Cape May County is holding a program called “Escape the Cape,” which allows towns to simulate a hurricane coming towards the Jersey Shore and how they would respond. State representatives and Cape May County Emergency Management were on scene for the program that began on Wednesday and will run into Thursday. The purpose of the exercise is to evaluate interagency and intergovernmental coordination at the Municipal, County, State, and Federal levels using the National Incident Management System (NIMS) in preparation for, response to and recovery from a hurricane.
