COUNTY BUDGET TO INCREASE SPENDING BY FOUR PERCENT, TAX RATE STABLE

The County’s new budget is expected to increase spending, but keep the tax rate flat.  Freeholder Director Gerald Thornton reports that the budget will total $172.8 million, which is a 3.89 percent increase in spending.  The County tax rate is expected to be .2279 this year.  Thornton says the County has enjoyed a positive shift in ratables.
