COPS: WOMAN TRIED TO KILL CHILDREN BY DRIVING INTO RIVER

A South Jersey woman has been accused of trying to drive her car into the Delaware River so she could kill her three children.  Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi announced that Joann Smith of Florence Township intentionally drove her vehicle into the river on Tuesday evening in attempt to kill her three teenage children.  Everyone survived, and there were no major injuries.  Smith has been charged with three counts on attempted murder; she has a court hearing on Thursday.
