CONTROVERSY ENDS WITH RESIGNATION IN ATLANTIC CITY

A controversial member of the Atlantic City government has stepped down.  City officials confirm that public safety director Christine Petersen resigned on Tuesday after working on the job for over a year.  Some in the police union maintain that Petersen constantly overstepped her authority while on the job.  Petersen maintains her resignation is all about regulations regarding a state police and firemen’s retirement system.  Her last day on the job will be Friday.
