COAST GUARD MAKES RESCUE NEAR MARGATE

The Coast Guard rescued a man Thursday after his boat ran aground near Margate.  A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City spotted the 25-year-old man aboard the 21-foot boat and vectored in a boatcrew from Coast Guard Station Atlantic City, who transferred the man to Margate emergency medical services personnel ashore.  The man was severely affected by the cold when the 25-foot Response Boat crew rescued him, and was unable to communicate. He was not wearing a life jacket (and did not have a marine-band radio). Personnel from the Egg Harbor Township Police Department also assisted in the search.
