CHRISTIE VETOES SPORTS BETTING BILL

There will be no sports betting in New Jersey. Lawmakers had hoped to continue the fight by stripping away state law that prohibited sports book, but Gov. Chris Christie threw in the towel. The state lost in all of its legal battles to date to overturn a federal ban against sports betting. Christie vetoed the last ditch effort by lawmakers that hoped sports book could be treated like marijuana in a couple of states, where it is against federal law but not enforced.
