CHRISTIE UNSURE IF HE WILL VETO PORT AUTHORITY TOLL HIKES

A major toll hike could still be vetoed. The Port Authority announced toll hikes of up to $4 in one price range. Gov. Chris Christie said he has been kept mostly in the dark about the proposed hike. E-Z Pass customers would be paying $10 or $12 depending whether it is a peak time, compared to $6 or $8 previously. Christie would not say whether a veto is possible, but he knows that would have a big impact to other projects. The Port Authority oversees the bridges between New York and New Jersey among other transportation areas.
