CHRISTIE: STATE MAY NOT LAY ANYONE OFF NEXT YEAR

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is backing off some comments he made earlier this week regarding mass layoffs in the State of New Jersey.  Speaking during a meeting in Clifton on Wednesday, Christie says it is possible the state may not have to lay off any state workers next year since so many are leaving through attrition.  Earlier, Christie announced that as many as 1,200 state workers would have to be let go to help the state balance its new budget.  Christie says that many state workers who already got layoff notices are in the state’s motor vehicle department.
