CHRISTIE SIGNS PRO-ISREAL LEGISLATION

On Tuesday Gov. Christie signed legislation into law that would bar the state’s $80 billion public pension fund from investing in companies that boycott Israel or Israeli businesses. The bill was sponsored by Assemblyman Chris Brown, in opposition to the movement called Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, that targets Israeli businesses. The State Investment Council is now required to divest pension assets from companies with Israeli boycotts.
