CHRISTIE AND PRIETO TALKING ABOUT INTEREST ARBITRATION LAW

Both the Assembly Speaker and Governor are negotiating terms of a deal to pass interest arbitration legislation. Gov. Chris Christie has said publicly recently that there is nothing to talk about, the law is working. Many credit New Jersey with slowing down property tax increases with the legislation that limits arbitration awards to public unions at two percent. There is also a two percent cap on towns with their budgets. Assembly Speaker Vince Prieto believes more can be done to protect the police and fire unions.
