CHRISTIE: NJ WILL SEE TOWN, SCHOOL MERGERS

225px-ChChristieNew Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced Tuesday that he expects to see New Jersey school districts and municipalities begin the process of consolidation. Christie appeared at a gathering in Perth Amboy on Tuesday and said that a new 2.5 percent cap that may be imposed in the Garden State will reduce the number of municipalities and school districts.  New Jersey has 566 individual towns, and nearly 600 school districts.
