CHRISTIE MAKES ANOTHER STOP TO PROMOTE PENSION REFORM

Gov. Chris Christie’s tour took him to Edison to push pension reform. The Governor rolled out a plan on Tuesday that would have current employees contribute 8.5 percent towards their pension. Christie said the system was underfunded by $46 million. Other proposals include suspending cost of living increase, adding additional years to how the pension is figured out, and rolling back a 9 percent pension increase that was instituted in 2001.
