CHRISTIE: CUT TENURE, ADD PERFORMANCE REVIEW

gov_christieThe fight over tenure continues. Gov. Chris Christie once again said on Thursday he is against tenure for teachers and wants a five year performance review. Christie’s new plan would be for each teacher to get a five-year contract and at the end of the contract, it would be reviewed and considered for extension. Tenure kicks in after three years in New Jersey at which point it becomes a long and costly process to remove a teacher from the position.
