CHILD SUPPORT SWEEP CONDUCTED IN ATLANTIC COUNTY

The Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office completed a three day arrest sweep of people wanted for failure to make their court ordered child support payments. In Atlantic County, 30 people were arrested on Child Support Warrants and a total of $ 7,613.35 was collected from those arrested during the operation. Additionally, six people wanted on Criminal Warrants were also arrested during the operation. One such individual was an Egg Harbor Township woman charged with fraud by the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office after she allegedly uttered a false receipt to probation officers in an attempt to keep her boyfriend from being arrested on an active child support warrant. Sheriff Frank X. Balles said, “This is a good example of how law enforcement works together to effectuate the arrest of individuals wanted for failing to pay their court ordered child support.”
