CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES COMES AGAINST PLEASANTVILLE MAN

An Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted a Pleasantville man on one count of fourth-degree possession of child pornography in connection with images located on his computer, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel announced.
It is alleged that Jader A. Muriel, 31, of the 300 Block of Doughty Road, was downloading sexually explicit images of children in 2010. The New Jersey State Police High Tech Crime Unit discovered the images and traced them back to the defendant’s IP address. On Dec. 16, 2010, State Police executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home, seized his computer and located the images. Muriel was not at the residence at the time of the search. He was subsequently arrested on March 14, 2011, according to Assistant Prosecutor Janet Gravitz who presented the case to the Grand Jury.
A fourth-degree crime carries a maximum prison term of 18 months and a $10,000 fine.
