The Assembly Education Committee will consider a four-bill charter school reform package on Monday. The bills require voter approval for charter schools, enables Rutgers University to authorize charter schools, installs strict oversight for charter schools and allows private schools to convert nonpublic schools into charter schools. The Assembly State Government Committee will also look at imposing pay-to-play prohibitions upon county bridge commission contractors.
