CHARGES FILED IN TEEN'S DEATH FROM MONDAY

Atlantic County Prosecutor Theodore Housel authorized a second-degree charge of Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident in the accident from Monday that killed a teenager in Egg Harbor Township. The charges were announced against William Michael Simkins, 31, of 5 Royal Avenue in Egg Harbor Township, in connection with the Monday morning death of Jacob Broschard, 16, of the 1300 block of Old Zion Road in Egg Harbor Township. Municipal Court Judge Robert Switzer set bail at $50,000 cash. The criminal investigation continues. A first appearance has not been set in Superior Court on the additional charges at this time.

A crime of the second-degree carries a maximum prison term of 10 years and a $150,000 fine.
