CASINO WORKERS VOTE FOR JULY 1ST STRIKE

The July Fourth weekend in Atlantic City will be less festive if workers at five casinos are on strike. On Thursday 96 percent of the Unite Here Local 54 union voted to strike on July 1st if they do not have a new labor contract. The strike would involve about 6,000 housekeepers, porters, bartenders and other hospitality workers. Most workers have been under temporary contract extensions since September of 2014.
