CAPE MAY WOMAN RUNS FROM CAR ON PARKWAY, STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE

A 19 year old woman from Cape May was struck by a vehicle on the Garden State Parkway in Toms River when the vehicle she was riding in hit a median, and she attempted to run from the car.  NJ.com reports that Amy Mathis was struck by the vehicle Friday around 11pm.  Mathis was taken to an area hospital.  The driver of the vehicle was identified as 19 year old Jordan Shelton of Del Haven who fled the scene of the accident; he was later arrested and charged with DUI.
