The City of Cape May will receive nearly half a million dollars in grant money from New Jersey’s Green Acres Program. According to the Press of Atlantic City, Cape May City Manager Bruce MacLeod said they were hoping for $1.6 million from the state, to create a 38-acre park and recreation center near the Lafayette Street Elementary School. Due to the state’s financial situation, limited funding was available this year. State officials encouraged Cape May to apply next year for additional funding.
