CAPE MAY COUNTY FREEHOLDERS SUPPORT CONTROVERSIAL PIPELINE PLAN

Cape May County freeholders passed a resolution this week that supports the construction of a 22-mile natural gas pipeline through the Pinelands to the B.L. England Generating Station in Upper Township.  The Board met on Tuesday and voted in favor of the project which has drawn the ire of some environmental groups.  South Jersey Gas has proposed the pipeline project which would cost $8 million.  A final decision is expected in the middle of January.
