CAPE MAY COUNTY ANNOUNCES ASSISTANCE TO THOSE IMPACTED BY HURRICANE IRENE

The Cape May County Board of Social Services will be taking Disaster Food Stamp Assistance applications and assisting ongoing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients with replacement and supplemental food assistance at the Cape May County Board of Social Services building located at 4005 Route 9 South in Rio Grande, New Jersey from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and at several off site locations starting Monday, September 12, 2011.  The multiple locations will provide easy access for eligible county residents who experienced extreme material losses during Hurricane Irene or subsequent flooding to apply for food assistance through the disaster-related Supplemental Nutritional Program (D-SNAP) and SNAP programs.  Applications will be taken through September 20, 2011.

Applications at the Social Services Building will be taken in alphabetical order as follows:  Monday, 9/12 Last name A-D; Tuesday, 9/13 Last name E-H; Wednesday, 9/14 Last name I-K; Thursday, 9/15 Last name L-M; Friday, 9/16 Last name O-R; Monday, 9/19  Last name S-V and Tuesday, 9/20 Last name W-Z.

The following county libraries and the Ocean City library will take applications between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the designated date.
