CAPE MAY CITY SHOWS OFF LAFAYETTE STREET PARK PLANS

Cape May unveiled further details into their Lafayette Street Park and sustainability projects during a press conference on Wednesday. Mayor Ed Mahaney said the idea was to create a legacy for the future generations to enjoy. The plans were designed by students of Temple University, and develop ways to better use open space and to be more green. Cape May received the Silver Certification from Sustainable New Jersey program.

A small 40 foot wind turbine is going to be placed on the Cape May City Elementary School as well. It will be used primarily as an educational tool. The turbine comes as apart of a $10,000 grant the city received from Walmart.
