CAMDEN DIOCESE TAKES A STAND ON NATIONAL ANTHEM

The Diocese of Camden will not tolerate lack of respect for the national anthem by it’s student athletes before their games. The diocese issued a policy to it’s schools last week that says any player or coach who does not demonstrate “appropriate respect” during the national anthem could be suspended for three games. The policy covers students at Wildwood Catholic, St. Joseph, and Holy Spirit high schools. There have been no reports of protests by athletes in the Cape-Atlantic league so far this season.
