CALL FOR CONSOLIDATION OF COUNTY DISPATCH DUTIES

Cape May County should consider sharing emergency dispatch duties. That was the message in a letter to the Cape May County Freeholder Board, drafted by the Upper Township Committee. According to the Press of Atlantic City, Upper Township has a shared services agreement with Ocean City for police and fire dispatching. The letter suggests that money could be saved if the eleven municipalities throughout Cape May County would consolidate resources, such as facilities, personnel and equipment.
