CAL CHAMPS! WILDWOOD CATHOLIC STUNS ATLANTIC CITY

Wildwood CatholicIn a stunning game, Wildwood Catholic’s boys basketball team stunned Atlantic City and captured the Cape Atlantic League Championship at Richard Stockton College.  Wildwood Catholic creamed Atlantic City in the championship game broadcast live on WCZT Radio, 61-33.  Wildwood Catholic went into the tournament as the fourth seed and knocked off two higher seeds, Atlantic City and Holy Spirit.

“Of course the margin of victory surprised me”, said Wildwood Catholic Coach Dave DeWeese.  “The effort didn’t surprise me.  I think we showed we are one of the best defensive teams in South Jersey.  We had a lot of things go right for us, and we took them out of the game early with our smothering defense.  Eddie McWade had a great game as usual, he gives us a great effort night in and night out”.
