CAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME APPEARANCE FOR MIDDLE TWP.

middle_township_panthers_cape_may_court_house_sticker-r3cfff7d901ba49f9b16c48604f3fd864_v9waf_8byvr_512The Middle Township Lady Panthers have punched their ticket to the Cape Atlantic League girls basketball championship game.  The Panthers knocked off defending champion Holy Spirit 51-37 to advance to the title game Saturday at 12 Noon at Richard Stockton College.  The game will be broadcast live on WCZT Radio with Denis Brown and Phil Pizzi.  Middle Township defeated Millville and Egg Harbor Township to advance to the championship game.  Coach John Leahy said “the kids were really ready to play this game, they had a great practice yesterday, and they were really focused”.  Leahy also told WCZT “In any kind of playoff situation with teams who are familiar with each other, you expect it to be close.  Our kids have done a great job on the defensive end”.

Next up this evening:  Wildwood Catholic girls versus top seeded Cedar Creek.  The winner will play Middle Township Saturday in the title game.  The Lady Crusaders game will be heard live on WCZT Radio.
