BRIDGETON POLICE WARN OF POSSIBLE SCAM

Bridgeton police are investigating reports of a subject possibly posing as a city inspector entering or attempting to enter homes in the city in the past week. According to police, residents on Walnut St. reported a thin white male between the ages of 40 and 50 entering residences in that area on at least two occasions and city officials stated they have received calls and inquiries from other residents as well. The suspect was reported operating a white vehicle on one occasion and a black SUV on another occasion and police have interviewed several of the residents thus far. Nothing has been reportedly stolen so far, according to Capt. Michael Gaimari, but he warns that these activities may precede an actually burglary or robbery attempt. Police are asking anyone with information to report it to police.
