BRIDGETON POLICE RELEASE MORE INFORMATION ON BODY FOUND IN RIVER

Bridgeton police this morning are trying to positively identify a man found dead in the Cohansey River Thursday while also attempting to determine an exact cause of death. According to police, the victim was pulled from the water unresponsive by Bridgeton Fire Dept. personnel at the boat ramp south of the bridge and detectives tentatively identified the victim as a 32-year-old former Bank St. man from his description and identifying marks on his body, but that identification found on him did not exactly match police records, police said. The victim is described as a Hispanic male of Mexican descent, approximately 5’4” – 160 lbs. with black collar-length hair and a black mustache. He was wearing khaki shorts and a type of work boot along with a medium blue button-down work shirt with the name “Bob” over the left breast. Anyone with information is asked to reach out to police.
