BLACK BEAR HUNT UNDERWAY IN NEW JERSEY

New Jersey’s bear hunt is underway in North Jersey.  More than 260 bears were killed by hunters during the first day of the bear hunt on Monday.  The state reports that more than 3,000 hunters fanned out over several North Jersey counties on Monday to thin out the bear population.  The state believes this is the best first day ever in the bear hunt’s seven year history.  Some protesters showed up to show their displeasure for the bear hunt.
