IMG_7252A8x10Freeholder Gerald Thornton and Crest Haven Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center held a birthday celebration on June 7th for Undine (Dina) Dougherty who turned 102 on June 5th.   Family and friends attended the Birthday party in the recreation room of the Center located at 12 Moore Road in Cape May Court House, NJ.

Mrs. Dougherty was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey on June 5, 1909.  She attended Wildwood High School and then Peirce School of Business.  She married Edmond Dougherty and the couple settled in Cape May Court House with their three sons and operated Dougherty’s Express Moving and Storage Company.

Dina and Edmond, members of the First Baptist Church of Cape May Court House, both had a true love of horses.  These equestrians split time between family, church, crossword puzzles and the love of reading on the beach, cooking and trying all the ‘new’ Kraft theater recipes.

Fondly known as Dina, she is the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
