BILL TO HELP ATLANTIC CITY RACE COURSE DIES IN COMMITTEE

State lawmakers did not post the bill to direct more state funding to the Atlantic City Race Course, so the State Assembly could not vote on it on Monday. According to a statement in the Press of Atlantic City, Assemblyman Vince Polistina, a Republican from Atlantic County and co-sponsor of the bill, said that Democrats prevented the bill from posting. State Senator Jim Whelan said he was not sure the bill would be re-introduced if the Assembly would not act on it. The bill was designed to give the Atlantic City Race Course 90 percent of the Casino Simulcasting Special Fund.
