BILL STALLS THAT WOULD WIPE OUT LEGAL NOTICES IN PAPERS

State lawmakers will not be voting on a bill that could potentially eliminate local towns having to pay for legal notices in their local newspapers.  Assembly Speaker Shelia Oliver says that the bill will be tabled for now and will be reconsidered in the next legislative session.  The measure would have given local towns the option to put their legal notices on their websites instead of paying for them to be published in newspapers.
