BEAR HUNT BEGINS MONDAY IN THE GARDEN STATE

New Jersey’s first bear hunt begins Monday, and this year it coincides with deer season.  Hunters with valid permits will be allowed to hunt for bears using bow and arrows from October 10th through the 12th, and can use muzzleloaders from the 13th through the 15th.  In prior years, the bear hunt was held in December.
