BEAR DOWN! COURT RULES IN FAVOR OF BEAR HUNT IN GARDEN STATE

An organized bear hunt in New Jersey is legal, and will be allowed to continue.  A state appeals court struck down a request by an animal protection group who tried to stop future bear hunts in New Jersey.  The hunt has been held annually for the past eight years to thin out the herd of bears in northern New Jersey.
