BEACH REPLENISHMENT PROJECT CONTINUES IN STONE HARBOR

The beach replenishment project in Stone Harbor is continuing. Mayor Suzanne Walters updated Coastal Broadcasting on the project. Walters said that portions of the beach are still begin closed down, but only one entrance at a time will be unavailable. The work is expected to continue over the course of the next couple of weeks, but Walters said she has not been given a final date of the beach replenishment. The Army Corp of Engineers has fixed many of the dune areas in the borough to match that of its 2002 condition.
