The Borough of Avalon will present free beach movies throughout the summer of 2011. The “Big Beach Movies” will be held on Tuesday evenings at 8:45pm on the 30th Street beach. The movies are free, and open to the general public. The Avalon Free Public Library is a co-sponsor of the “Big Beach Movie” series.
“This is the best lineup of free beach movies that Avalon has presented to date”, said Avalon Department of Recreation Supervisor Brian Juzaitis. “The free beach movies draw several hundred adults and children every week during the summer, and we expect the crowds to be even bigger thanks to a great selection of family-oriented films that are part of our 2011 lineup”.
The movies are shown on a large movie screen at the beach at sunset. In the event of rain or high winds, the movies are shown inside at the Avalon Community Hall.
Here is the lineup for the 2011 “Big Beach Movie” series in Avalon:
June 28th—“How to Train Your Dragon”
July 5th—“Despicable Me”
July 12th—“The Karate Kid”
July 19th—“Shrek Forever After”
August 2nd—“Yogi Bear”
August 9th—“Clash of the Titans”
August 16th—“Iron Man 2”
