For the first time in decades Middle Township may fall into the hands of the republican party on Tuesday. A big election is being held for one township committee seat in Middle Township Tuesday. Longtime committeeman and former mayor Nate Doughty decided not to seek re-election. Three candidates are on Tuesday’s Middle Township ballot. If republicans win the seat on Tuesday, it’s very likely the township will be getting a republican mayor. Middle Township has long been a democratic community in a largely republican county. Tim Donohue, Steven Russell, and William Sturm III are the three candidates.
