AVALON’S RECEIVES REPORT ON SUCCESS OF DUNE VEGETATION MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Avalon officials received a glowing report on its successful Dune Vegetation Management Program.  Consultant Joseph Lomax reported to Council that the implementation of a state grant to thin out invasive Japanese Black Pine trees in the dunes has worked, and native vegetation has grown in its place.  A few years ago the Borough implemented a grant to remove dead and stressed trees that were impacted by certain insects.
