The Borough of Avalon has plans for their human residents in the event of a natural disaster. Officials have made provisions for their pets as well. Avalon Mayor Marty Pagliughi says the borough will renovate a tractor trailer to be used as a mobile pet shelter. The Red Cross does not allow pets in emergency shelters. Avalon has budgeted $30,000 to convert a surplus trailer into the animal shelter.
