AVALON TO APPLY FOR GRANT TO HELP DISPOSE OF PLASTIC BAGS

Avalon officials will apply for a grant through the Sustainable Jersey program to properly dispose of single use plastic bags.  The bags will be banned from being distributed in the Borough as of June 1st.  The town have distribution points in the community where the bags will be taken to be recycled; currently, the County MUA does not accept single use bags as a recyclable product.
