AVALON REPORTS REBOUND OF NATIVE VEGETATION IN ITS DUNE SYSTEM

Avalon is reporting a rebound of native vegetation in its dune system following the removal of some invasive Japanese Black Pine trees.  Borough officials announced on their municipal website that a state grant recently implemented thinned out the trees and native vegetation began to grow.  The grant was used to remove dead or distressed trees that were damaged by tree bark insects.
