AVALON POLICE SAVE DESPONDENT MAN WHO ENTERED OCEAN

Avalon Police saved a man who entered the ocean early Sunday morning with the intent to injure himself. Police responded to the 16th Street beach; Patrolman Mark Glassford entered the ocean to speak with the man in chest-deep water. Glassford was able to talk the man out of harm. The individual was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
