The Cape May County Freeholders are set to award a contract for a widening project at the Avalon Blvd. Bridge. County Engineer Dale Foster says that the work will be done on the bridge that sits over Avalon Canal. Federal dollars will be funding the nearly $3.5 million project. The timeline for the work is from September to Memorial Day. The bridge is being widened by 15 feet to allow for a dedicated left turn lane coming into Avalon.
