AVALON BEACH FILL PROJECT WAY AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

A major sand backpassing project in Avalon is near the finish line, weeks ahead of schedule.  The Avalon Department of Public Works is backpassing sand from the central portion of the community to north end beaches that were decimated by four nor’easters during the month of March.  All of the sand used in the project came from a sandbar that developed as a result of the storm activity.
